JLo

MANILA, Philippines – JLo is dancing her way to Manila on November 26 for her Dance Again World Tour in her first headlining tour ever, returning to form by taking the stage with the glitz and glamour only the most powerful celebrity can bring.

JLo dances again

Jennifer Lopez is dancing her way to Philippine shores this November. She is currently at the beginning of her 30-show traipse through Europe in support of her Dance Again World Tour, the first ever headlining tour by the singer-dancer-actress despite being in the music industry for over a decade. JLo fans have waited through 7 studio albums with over 70 million records sold worldwide for a tour from the triple-threat megastar.

While Asia is not her last leg of the tour – she moves on to Australia after Asia – JLo Dance Again World Tour in Manila will be the culminating concert to sum up 2012’s concert scene in the country. In fact, in Australia, her Sydney and Melbourne have sold out and local promoters had to add an extra night for each city.

Dance Again promises to deliver a full-blown production – an entourage of male dancers, LED screens for video interludes, costumes by Beirut based designer Zuhair Murad, and a catwalk– basically all the glitz and glamour that comes from being Jenny From The Block. The former American Idol mainstay said in past interviews that judging singers on AI improved the quality of her performances, emphasizing the importance of making a connection between performer and audience. Dance Again World Tour almost seems like the direct result of taking her own advice to heart, it’s JLo’s return to form as she does what she does best – perform.

Like all of the best world tours, it won’t be complete without movie-fication. 3D concert footage will be shot throughout the tour in Europe and Asia, along with 2D documentary content ala Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D,which featured her California Dreams Tour.

JLo got it all right as she tops this year’s Celebrity 100 list by Forbes, unseating Lady Gaga who was number 1 last year. Despite raking in only $52 million (small compared to Oprah’s $165 M) as of May 2012, the megastar is the most powerful celeb because of her influence. She dipped her feet in many industries – she has fragrance and clothing lines, endorsement deals, a career in film and TV. She is also the first female national spokesperson for Boys & Girls Clubs of America in its 152-year history.

JLo is just one powerhouse of a celebrity and Manila is lucky to be one of her 5 stops in Asia. Watch JLO in her element at the Mall of Asia Arena on Nov. 26, 2012.
