Anjo Yllana hints at plan to run for senator

Anjo Yllana expressed his dismay over the supposed “thieves” in the government, saying they are one of the reasons why he wants to try his luck in the Senate.
The actor spoke about this last Oct. 27 through a livestream video on his TikTok page, where he discusses several topics including politics.
“Gusto ko pong tanggapin ‘yung challenge kasi sobrang naiinis na ako sa mga nakaupo ngayon. Pati mga magnanakaw, kanya-kanya silang kaakibat ba. Pino-protektahan nila ang isa’t isa. ‘Yan ‘yung isang [dahilan] kung bakit gusto kong sumabak sa senado e,” he said.
(I want to accept the challenge because I am very annoyed at those currently in position. The thieves have been protecting each other. This is one of the reasons why I want to run for senator.)
Without naming who he was referring to, Yllana appealed to the public to stop voting for such politicians. “Palitan natin. Kaya nagpi-presenta ako, baka sakali.”
(Let’s replace them. I am volunteering, just in case.)

In a more recent post, Yllana declared himself as a DDS (die-hard Duterte supporter). He also underscored that he would support Vice President Sara Duterte as well as the calls seeking to place Former President Rodrigo Duterte — who is detained at The Hague — under house arrest in Davao.
“Sana’y tanggapin ako ng Partidong Duterte. Tumakbo man akong senador o hindi, susuportahan ko ang team Duterte simula ngayon hanggang sa 2028,” the actor said, noting that he has “given up” his support for the current administration.
(I hope the Duterte party will accept me. Whether or not I run for senator, I will support team Duterte until 2028.)

Prior to this, Yllana made tirades against “Eat Bulaga” and Sen. Tito Sotto, although he later said that he was only “bluffing.”
Yllana had already delved into politics a few years back, serving as a councilor, then as vice mayor in Parañaque City. In 2024, he ran for the vice mayoral post in Calamba City but lost. /ra
