O’Brien’s remarks come amid his surprise visit to the Philippines, where he is filming episodes for his travel series “Conan O’Brien Must Go.”
The American talk-show host was previously spotted in Bonifacio Global City mingling with fans. He posted a photo holding a Filipino fan-made artwork of himself dressed in a barong, calling it “incredible.”
O’Brien first rose to fame in the US as host of “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” (1993-2009) and later “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” (briefly in 2009-2010).
The 62-year-old comedian then expanded into travel and special-event programming including the internationally oriented “Conan Without Borders.”
Meanwhile, Michael V has been a mainstay of “Bubble Gang” since its early years, serving as the show’s creative director and one of its core performers. He also currently stars in the hit sitcom “Pepito Manaloto.”
“Bubble Gang” premiered on Oct. 20, 1995, on GMA Network, making it the longest-running sketch comedy show in Philippine television history.
The network previously launched a campaign titled “More Tawa, More Saya” in celebration of “Bubble Gang’s” milestone.
The campaign includes the release of an original song, written and arranged by Michael V., and a music video featuring current cast members.
A two-part episode of “Bubble Gang’s” 30th anniversary is set to air on Oct. 19 and 26 on GMA Network. /ra
