Despite receiving offers to headline a new cooking show, celebrity chef Boy Logro admitted that show biz is no longer his priority as he is now getting older and wants to devote his time to personally helping other up-and-coming chefs.

Logro said that he is forever grateful for the opportunity to host his own cooking shows “Idol sa Kusina” and “Kusina Master” in the past, but now believes that era has run its course.

“Actually, kinukuha ulit ako ng GMA at ng ibang channels pero the reason behind na hindi na talaga kasi 70 years old na ako. Alam mo naman sa taping nakakapagod. Pera, walang problema sa pera. Nakilala naman na rin ako for how many years, masaya na ako doon,” he told Inquirer Entertainment at the grand opening of a food and beverage ingredients store on Friday, Oct 3, in Quezon City, where he was announced as the new endorser.

The executive chef previously had the opportunity to prepare the menu for Sultan Qaboos bin Said al-Said, who is now deceased, and served world-renowned guests including Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana of Wales, US President George Bush Sr. and Philippine President Fidel Ramos.

At this point in his career, Logro stated that his priority is to help other chefs, which is why he established his own cooking school in Davao and has been doing cooking demonstrations for select training schools.

“Only one thing left for my dream is matulungan ko na lang yung mga kapwang mga young entrepreneur na gusto matuto, gusto mag-aral. Kaya I have my school in Davao. And that’s why we have the Easy Training School. Yon na lang siguro kasi napagsilbihan ko na lahat. ‘Yung mga Pilipino na dapat natin tulungan, our country, kailangan nila guidance. With my expertise, dapat i-share ko sa kanila,” he said.

In 2021, Logro filed his certificate of candidacy for the Aangat Kusinerong Pinoy party-list. While he did not win, the professional chef’s vision for Filipino chefs remained constant. /ra
