Ji Chang-wook, Doh Kyung-soo’s ‘The Manipulated’ to premiere on Nov. 5

“The Manipulated,” an upcoming drama revolving around the violent rivalry between Ji Chang-wook and Doh Kyung-soo’s characters, is set to premiere on Nov. 5.
The crime-action drama’s premiere date was announced by Disney+ in a press statement, where it will run from Nov. 5 to Dec. 3. It also added that it will feature 12 episodes.
“The Manipulated” tells the story of Park Tae-joong (Ji), a model citizen who was mistakenly accused of raping and murdering a woman whom he supposedly never met. Sentenced to prison, his detention leads to “everything he loves [getting] ripped away” from him.
With the help of a fellow inmate, Tae-joong soon discovers that a mysterious man named An Yo-han (Doh) is framing innocent people for crimes. He gets consumed with anger and vows to make Yo-han pay.
The series is co-directed by Park Sin-woo and Kim Chang-joo, and written by screenwriter Oh Sang-ho.
The streaming service also released the upcoming series’ poster, showing Ji and Doh in a hand-to-hand fight.

Ji is best known for his lead roles in “Fabricated City,” “The K2,” “Backstreet Rookie,” “Lovestruck in the City” and “The Sound of Magic.”
Doh — also known as D.O. — started his entertainment career as a member of the K-pop boy group EXO in 2012 as one of their main vocalists, where he remains part of the group to this day. He made his solo debut nine years later.
He is best known for his appearances in “100 Days My Prince,” the “Along with the Gods” film franchise, “The Moon” and “It’s Okay, That’s Love.” /ra
