Claudine Barretto reaches out to niece Julia Barretto: ‘Mama is here’

Claudine Barretto offered a shoulder to cry on to her niece Julia Barretto after the latter confirmed her breakup with Gerald Anderson.
Claudine expressed her concern for the younger actress through her Facebook page on Thursday, Sept. 18, while sharing the statement of the latter’s talent agency Viva Artists Agency on the breakup.
“Mama is here, Juls,” Claudine wrote, adding a broken heart emoji.
Julia has yet to respond to this as of this writing.
Prior to this, Claudine, in an interview with hosts Ogie Diaz and Inah Evans, gave her two cents on the rumors linking Anderson to volleyball player Vanie Gandler.
During the interview, Diaz pointed out that amid the speculations, some have been saying that Anderson and Gandler are just good friends.
“Hindi ‘yan ang kinwento sa akin ng mga babies ko sa volleyball,” said Claudine, who noted she frequently watches Premier Volleyball League games (PVL) where Gandler plays. (That’s not what my friends from volleyball told me.)
While she opted not to expound on the matter, Claudine continued, “Basta hindi na ako nanonood ng PVL. Siya (Gandler), ayoko nang makita. Wala naman akong galit sa bata. Hindi ko lang siya gusto, pwede naman ‘yon diba?”
(I don’t watch PVL anymore. I don’t want to see her anymore. I am not angry at the kid. I just don’t like her; that’s acceptable, right?)
The reason behind Julia and Anderson’s breakup was not immediately disclosed, although their talent agencies said that the pair “amicably parted ways.” /ra
