Field day in ‘shadow play’

Lily Monteverde and Vilma Santos

Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and Regal producer Lily Monteverde attended the photo exhibit opening of production designer/filmmaker Cesar Hernando at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The fans had a field day snapping photos of the actress and the producer whose notable project, Mike de Leon’s 1984 masterpiece, “Sister Stella L.,” was featured prominently in the exhibit entitled “Mula sa mga Aninong Gumagalaw: Behind the Scenes 1971-2001.”

Renz and Rap Fernandez

The actress/politician gamely posed beside her sultry photos from Maryo J. de los Reyes’ 1987 thriller, “Tagos ng Dugo.”

Also present were young actors Rap and Renz Fernandez, proxies for their mother Lorna Tolentino, whose photograph from the set of De Leon’s 1986 drama, “Hindi Nahahati ang Langit,” was on display, too.

The exhibit, presented by the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film, runs until August 28. Text and photos by Bayani San Diego Jr.
