MANILA, Philippines— Vic Sotto said Wednesday afternoon he didn’t run for mayor of Quezon City because he believes he can still serve without running.
Weeks before the filing of candidacy was closed on October 5, his name floated in the media as a major contender for the said post.
“Not right now,” he told the INQUIRER.
He clarified he wasn’t discouraged by the intrigues and criticisms thrown on his brother, Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
Senator Sotto was subject of recent protests, mostly in cyberspace, due to his stand on several issues like the RH Bill and plagiarism.
Vic said he’s anti-RH Bill.
“Although some of the provisions are OK, I don’t agree with that part on population control,” he said.
He added in politics, you can’t please everyone. “If you are anti-RH bill, you will be up against those who are pro-RH bill.”
