Transman Jesi Corcuera, a “Starstruck” and “Pinoy Big Brother” alum, had his daughter Calia Elle baptized over the weekend.
Corcuera was accompanied by his non-showbiz partner Camille during the baptism held on July 13, Sunday, as seen in an Instagram update by Rams David.
David, a veteran entertainment manager and producer, was one of the godfathers of Corcuera’s child. “Ninong Sunday. Welcome to the world of good Christian life, Calia Elle Corcuera. She was super behaved from the church to the reception. Nak Jesi is now my Kumpareng Jesi,” he wrote, tagging Corcuera’s Instagram account.
Last year, Corcuera made headlines after announcing that he was pregnant with his first child, who was conceived through artificial insemination.
Artificial insemination involves the injection of sperm into a female’s cervix or uterine cavity for the purpose of achieving a pregnancy without sexual intercourse.

In an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Corcuera shared that his pregnancy was “three years in the making,” and he even stopped taking hormones for the baby’s safety.
“Even though I didn’t have my baby yet, I wanted the baby to be safe. I’ve been taking hormones since 2012—11 years. I was thinking that it might not work. When I tried conceiving my child, I sought the help of my endocrinologist who was guiding me through my hormone replacement therapy,” he said at the time.
The internet personality also opened up about the challenges of his transgender journey, which he likened to a rollercoaster.
“It’s not a joke in terms of finances, emotions, and mental health. It’s even harder than a rollercoaster,” he said.
Corcuera joined GMA’s reality competition “Starstruck” in 2006. His batchmates include Kris Bernal, Aljur Abrenica, Paulo Avelino and Chariz Solomon, among others. He then joined “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7” as a housemate in 2016. /ra
