Meanwhile, images and names of other celebrities including Sanya Lopez, Kyline Alcantara, Lea Salonga, Sharon Cuneta and Amy Perez, among others, have previously been used in an attempt to scam people, with most utilizing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated videos.

Lopez previously announced that her name was used to ask for donations for indigenous people in Zambales. In her Instagram Stories at the time, the actress provided a screenshot showing a text conversation between the scammer and a netizen.

In 2024, Salonga and Cuneta were used in fake product endorsements manipulated by AI to promote a “natural” cure for diabetes. Perez, on the other hand, was used to endorse a menopausal drug. /ra
