John Prats recalls Heart Evangelista as loveteam partner: ‘Napakaarte’

John Prats fondly recounted being in a love team with his former girlfriend, actress-fashion influencer Heart Evangelista, admitting he initially found her “napakaarte” (excessively finicky).

The actor talked about this as he looked back at his showbiz journey during an interview with TV host-actor Luis Manzano, as seen on the latter’s YouTube vlog on Tuesday, July 1.

“When ‘G-mik’ started, I didn’t have a love team… I enjoyed that because I didn’t have to think about anything. I didn’t want to be in a love team,” Prats said, recalling how he would see his co-stars do fan service.

However, Prats was eventually informed that he had to be in a love team. He was paired with several actresses before the management found a perfect match for him in Evangelista.

“I was surprised when Heart became my loveteam partner. I initially didn’t want to be in a team-up with her because she was so finicky when we were young,” he said, eliciting laughs from Manzano.

“Heart was very finicky when it comes to her makeup and caboodles when she was young. Our personalities were completely opposite,” Prats continued.

Prats further revealed that there was “no attraction at all” during their first meeting.

“But it was warmly welcomed by fans,” he noted. “So our love team really worked because of their support.”

Prats added that the audience really loved them so that they had no bashers except the “reporters” who supposedly wrote false information about their love team. He also admitted that after the separation of his team-up with Evangelista, he experienced some lows in his career.

But despite the breakup of their reel and real-life partnership, Prats and Evangelista, who dated for around two years, have remained friends.

During the interview, the actor-director even revealed that Evangelista was one of the people who helped him while he was courting his now-wife Isabel Oli.

“When I was courting Liv (Isabel), I went to her filming set not knowing that Heart was her co-star. It was my first meeting with Heart after a very long time,” Prats recalled.

“In all fairness to Heart, she rooted for me and Liv. She backed me up on courting Liv,” he added. /ra
