The second season of the popular youth-oriented series starring rising love team Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga, “Ang Mutya ng Section E,” is officially in development.
The campus romance series’ director, Theodore Boborol, gave a sneak peek into the ongoing script as he shared a close-up photograph of a laptop screen displaying the title page of the screenplay’s episode 7.
Season 2 will mark the return of the “AshDres” love team — Olviga as Jay-Jay and Muhlach as Keifer. After gaining a loyal fanbase in its debut season last year, the show is expected to return with more “kilig” (thrill), campus drama, and coming-of-age moments.
Based on the Wattpad story of the same name, “Ang Mutya ng Section E” follows Jay-Jay, a high school student who transfers to the prestigious Higher Value International School, only to be sent to the unruliest section of the school, Section E, where she becomes the center of pranks by the male students.

Muhlach’s Keifer then becomes drawn to Olviga’s Jay-Jay despite their differences, which begins a story of friendship and light campus romance. Season 2 is expected to pick up from the open-ended season one finale.
The news of the series being renewed for a second season was announced during the cast’s recent sold-out, two-day fan meet-and-greet show at the New Frontier Theater.
In a past interview, Olviga admitted that it was a dream come true for her to be partnered up with Muhlach.
“Marami na akong naging ka-loveteam. Pero si Andres yung nag-click po talaga. Hindi ko in-expect. Siyempre, Andres Muhlach na yan. Sobrang grateful. Parang answered prayer. May kilig,” she said.
