“I learned about it two weeks ago. So I’m set for surgery in July, and normally, and most of the time, because it’s a ‘friendly’ cancer, they just remove the thyroid. So, a full thyroidectomy is needed. It solves the problem. So, we need prayers,” she remarked.

Hyala explained that she remains in good spirits because she believes that God will “carry her through the storm.”

“I’ve been through a lot to not trust that God is in control … I feel like it’s impossible not to, I can’t take care of myself here … So, the Lord will take care of me. It’s a difficult, scary and crazy world that we live in, and it’s important that we continue to have faith. Faith means trusting even if the storm is raging,” she said in the accompanying video announcing her health scare.

“I feel like what this ordeal will bring me is that since my thyroid will be removed, I will make your boobs bigger,” she added in jest.

In June 2021, Hyala and her husband, Renly Tiñana, shared that their daughter, Princess, “miraculously” overcame meningoencephalitis, an inflammation of the brain and protective membranes. /edv
