Cathy Sanchez-Babao cried foul over a fraudulent product advertisement that falsely claims her 91-year-old mom, veteran actress Caridad Sanchez, has passed.
Cathy informed the public and asked for help in reporting the fake claims, through her Facebook page on Monday, June 23.
The advertisement, which was shared by a Facebook page that uses Cathy’s name, talked about a milk that supposedly helps people with dementia — the condition Caridad suffers from.
“Friends, please REPORT this FRAUDULENT testimonial to FACEBOOK. The NERVE of these people KILLING my mom when she is still very much alive!” Cathy said.
“The company who did this is peddling a milk product. Kindly bring this to Facebook’s attention by reporting it as FALSE advertising and that it is a FAKE profile,” she added.
Cathy further said in the comments section that she first learned about the false advertisement after an individual wrote to her to ask about the product.
“Grabe these people, no conscience!” she lamented.
The post is still up on the platform as of this writing.
Caridad, who has had a decades-long career in movies and television, got her break through the 1958 film “Malvarosa.” She is also popularly known as Lola in the educational series “Bayani,” which ran from 1995 to 2000.
The veteran actress’ dementia diagnosis was first made public by Cathy through a blog in 2020. /ra
