Talent agencies Sparkle GMA, Star Magic urge netizens to be kind, respectful

Talent management companies Sparkle GMA Artist Center and Star Magic respectively addressed netizens, advising them to be mindful of their posts and to refrain from fueling hate on social media.
“We urge everyone to remain respectful in all online interactions. There are constructive, decent and gentle ways to express emotions than through hate or negativity,” Sparkle GMA said in a statement released on its social media pages on Tuesday, June 17.
“Let us remember: behind every name is a real person with feelings. Keep choosing kindness, mga Kapuso,” it added.
Star Magic, for its part, addressed the “malicious social media posts,” although it did not immediately state the specific posts it was referring to.
“We would like to remind everyone to be conscientious when publishing social media posts and content. Remember, hurtful and hateful words take a great toll on a person’s well-being,” it said.
“As Kapamilyas, it is our call to foster love, kindness, and care, wherever we are and in whatever we do,” it added.

While no further contexts were included in the talent agencies’ statements, some fans seemed to have related them to the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab” edition, which features Kapuso and Kapamilya celebrities as housemates.
Others even pointed out how the recent eviction night — where the duo of GMA artist Shuvee Entrata and ABS-CBN artist Klarisse de Guzman became the evictees — apparently further ignited feuds among fans of the housemates.
