Zeinab Harake denies ‘OA’ claims grand wedding cost P20 million

Zeinab Harake addressed claims that the expenses of her and basketball player Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s wedding reached P20 million, with the content creator dismissing these as exaggeration.

Harake and Parks spoke about this in a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview on Tuesday, June 17, over two weeks after they tied the knot.

“Actually, we initially planned for a simple, intimate wedding. But God blessed us with a person who built the venue for us from the ground up for five months,” she revealed, noting that the unidentified individual was their godfather.

“When we saw the venue, we were overwhelmed and we thought that we need to give back to our godfather by getting the best suppliers. That was why it looked like a big wedding,” she continued.

Show host Abunda then asked the couple about the estimation of some netizens that the wedding cost P20 million.

“It was OA (overacting), because they exaggerated the expenses. They even claimed that the cake was P2 million, when it was not,” she stressed.

“Our wedding expenses did not sum up to P20 million. We were very blessed with the set design and location because of our godfather, but we shouldered the rest,” Harake added.

The couple clarified as well that the paper plates at the event which went viral on social media were used for the “pika-pika” or snacks before the reception, and not for the actual meal of the guests.

During the interview, Harake also opened up about her first few weeks of being a married woman. She also said that she is not yet pregnant.

“I was overwhelmed because I didn’t expect that I would be blessed with someone like him. But at the same time, I am very happy and grateful to God for giving me a good father and partner,” she said.

Harake and Parks first went public with their romance in 2023. Their wedding was held in Tagaytay last June 1.  /ra
