Cocoy Laurel’s family has opened the late screen and stage veteran’s wake to the public on June 17-18, Tuesday and Wednesday, at the Heritage Park in Taguig.

The order of service was announced by the Laurel family through the Facebook page dedicated for Cocoy’s late mom, theater actress-singer Celia Laurel, on Monday, June 16.

On June 17 and 18, the viewing is scheduled at 4 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with a Mass to be celebrated at 7 p.m. at Chapel 2 & 3 Garden Wing.

On June 19, the inurnment Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Santuario de San Antonio Parish in Makati.

Cocoy died on Saturday, June 14, as confirmed by his family on Monday. His sudden demise came just three months after his 72nd birthday.

His brother David Laurel reportedly disclosed that the late performer died of cardiac arrest arising from multiple organ failure.

Cocoy, who is the son of Celia with the late former Vice President Salvador Laurel, was one of the most notable members of Repertory Philippines. His biggest roles in theater include the Engineer in “Miss Saigon” and Jean Valjean in “Les Miserables.”

He also starred in several films including “Love Song” and “Oh Margie Oh.”
