Cesar Montano says he’s happy for ex-wife Sunshine Cruz, Atong Ang

Cesar Montano expressed his support for ex-wife Sunshine Cruz and her new relationship with business tycoon Atong Ang.
Montano said he is happy for Cruz’s budding romance with Ang, after being asked by broadcast journalist Julius Babao in a recent interview.
“I can see that she’s happy. For a friend, when you see your friend happy, wouldn’t you be happy for them? So as long as she’s happy, then I’m happy for her enormously. Because when the mother of my children is happy, my children are happy as well,” he said, speaking in Tagalog.
The “Jose Rizal” actor said he had already met Ang at the birthday celebration of one of his daughters with Cruz, acknowledging that there was no “awkwardness” between them.
“I knew him for a while. We talked but only briefly,” he said.
Montano and Cruz were married for 13 years before their marriage was annulled in September 2018. They are currently co-parenting their three daughters: Angelina Isabelle, Samantha Angeline and Angel Francheska.
Cruz and Ang were first rumored to be in a relationship in 2024 after they were seen together at an event. This sighting was followed by a viral video of them kissing at a cockpit arena.
Ang officially confirmed his romance with the actress last December through a news item on “Bilyonaryo News Channel.” The pair was then seen attending a wedding as “ninang and ninong,” followed by their viral duet of the OPM hit “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” at a private gathering.
Cruz was previously in a six-year relationship with politician Macky Mathay before announcing their split in September 2022.
Meanwhile, Montano is currently in a relationship with Socorro “Kath” Angeles, with whom he has three children: Liam, Samuel and Kristen. He was first married to Marilyn Polinga, with whom he has two children. Their second child, Christian Angelo Manhilot, died in 1993.
The “Ang Padrino” actor then had a relationship with Teresa Loyzaga, with whom he has one son, actor Diego Loyzaga. He also dated Miss Philippines Earth 2009 Sandra Seifert, and they have a son named Corinth Ian. /ra
