Alden Richards pokes fun at viral tongue-out meme, recreates pose

Alden Richards drew laughs from netizens after he gamely re-created his tongue-out pose which has gone viral and has become a meme on social media.

The actor shared a brand-related video on his Instagram page on Thursday, June 12, in which he rated Filipino foods by doing a full tongue-out pose if he liked it and a partial one if he didn’t.

Richards’ video on TikTok has so far garnered over 6.6 million views and more than 1.1 million likes.

The pose was in reference to his 2018 photo from a shoot where he stuck his tongue out, squinting his eyes while one of his hands was on his forehead.

It was not immediately known why Richards’ photo resurfaced.

The pose has since been used in a TikTok trend where netizens show themselves sticking their tongue out and use Skusta Clee’s “Kalimutan Ka” as the video’s background music.

Among those who hopped on the trend was Sheena Catacutan of the P-pop girl group BINI.

Meanwhile, Richards’ directorial debut film “Out of Order” is going international as it is set to make its world premiere at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival in Vietnam. The movie stars himself, Nonie Buencamino and Heaven Peralejo.  /ra
