WASHINGTON—Film icon Elizabeth Taylor’s collection of jewelry, artwork, clothing, and memorabilia will be sold at auction, according to Christie’s auction house.
Taylor died last month at the age of 79 after suffering congestive heart failure.
Christie’s said it reached an agreement with Taylor’s family to sell the items in a series of auctions to be announced later this spring, according to a statement Saturday.
Taylor over many years and marriages had amassed one of the world’s most impressive jewelry collections. In 2002, she published a book entitled “Elizabeth Taylor: My Love Affair with Jewelry.”
