American pop boy band 98 Degrees expressed their openness to collaborating with SB19, with founding member Jeff Timmons revealing that their group has been in contact with the P-pop quintet’s management for a possible opportunity.

One of the group’s members, Jeff Timmons, addressed the possible collaboration with SB19 on the May 27 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” when they were asked about the topic.

“A couple of years ago, when we were talking about coming here pre-pandemic, we were in talks with some of the management team of SB19, and there was interest there. And the other day I brought it up, and it is something that was kinda on our wishlist,” he said.

Timmons added that they have been “in contact” with SB19’s management, while hoping that something will come out of the discussion between both sides. “We’re trying to meet up with them while we are here. So hopefully it is in the works.”

“We have a lot of respect for them… and the Filipino twinge, style, and vibe they do,” he continued. “We think it’s kind of perfect, and it connects with what we do.”

The group further said SB19 is on its list of Filipino acts that they admire, aside from Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, Rachel Alejandro, Sarah Geronimo, and Jay Durias during the interview.

The vocal group — consisting of Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre — is currently in the Philippines for a two-day concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 30 and 31. They are best known for their songs “I Do,” “My Everything,” “True To Your Heart,” and “Give Me Just One Night,” to name a few.

Meanwhile, SB19 will kick off their “Simula at Wakas” world tour at the Philippine Arena on May 31 and June 1. The P-pop powerhouse released their third EP of the same name last April, which they noted in multiple interviews as their “biggest comeback” yet. /edv
