‘Somebody Feed Phil’ set to feature Manila in season 8

Phil Rosenthal, the host of the American food and travel documentary series “Somebody Feed Phil,” announced the show’s upcoming return for its eighth season, which will feature Manila as one of its destinations.
Rosenthal, who is also a writer and a producer, made the announcement through his Instagram page on Thursday, May 22.
“Season 8. June 18 [on] Netflix. We’re taking you to Amsterdam, San Sebastián/Basque Country, Boston, Tbilisi, Sydney/Adelaide, Las Vegas, Manila and Guatemala,” the caption read.

While further details on the Manila feature were not immediately disclosed, the show teaser gives a peek at Rosenthal dining with actress Wilma Doesnt.
It can also be recalled that Rosenthal visited the Philippines in 2024, and was seen enjoying his pineapple drink with the view of the Taal Volcano in Tagaytay.
Fans of the series, including Filipino celebrities Gabbi Garcia and Erwan Heussaff, expressed excitement over the announcement via Rosenthal’s comments section.
“[Oh my gosh], Manila???” Garcia asked, to which Rosenthal replied, “Yes Gabbi.”
Heussaff, for his part, left two red heart emoji.

“Somebody Feed Phil,” which premiered in 2018, features Rosenthal trying out dishes in the places he goes to.
The show has been a hit among food lovers and has earned recognitions including the Best Travel/Adventure Show award at the 2022 Critics’ Choice Real TV Award, and a James Beard Award nomination for Visual Media — Long Form. /ra
