Lotlot de Leon remembered her late mom Nora Aunor on what would have been the Superstar’s 72nd birthday, expressing utmost gratitude for the latter’s belief in her since she was young.
The younger actress marked the special occasion by showing a tombstone with a drawing of Aunor’s face beside the word “Mommy,” through the former’s Instagram page on early morning of Wednesday, May 21.
“Happy birthday in heaven, mommy! I will always love you,” Lotlot said in the caption.

In a separate post, Lotlot also recounted starring in her 1980s variety show “Lotlot & Friends,” a brainchild of her late mom.
Showing a clip of one of her performances from the show, Lotlot said, “I remember this so well.”
“Mom called for a meeting at our then house at Jacksonville, Greenhills because she wanted to produce a teen variety show for RPN 9,” she recalled. “Everyone that worked behind the scenes was her most trusted, who also worked with her in ‘The Superstar’ show.”
Lotlot credited her mom for the show’s concept as well as its title, recounting how Aunor also included her other children Ian de Leon and Matet de Leon in the program.
“She was excited and she wanted me, Ian and Matet to be the front liners including my cousin, Ate Marilyn Villamayor. The show went on for a couple of years, till I had my baby Janine [Gutierrez],” Lotlot continued, referring to her eldest daughter.
“This show brings back so many good memories. A lot of training and experience which I carry to this day,” she added. “Thank you mommy, for always believing in me!”
