Singer Rhaila Tomakin dismissed claims that she was the third party in the recent breakup of celebrity couple Kobe Paras and Kyline Alcantara, emphasizing that Paras is “not her type.”
Tomakin addressed the speculations by stressing that she and Paras are only good friends and that their recent trip to Bali is not something that people should read too much into.
“Kobe is such a great guy and a very good friend, but that’s about it,” she told reporters. “I get how easily it can be misunderstood. As Filipinos we have a 3-month rule type of thing, but it’s 2025 guys.”
“I don’t want to disrespect anyone, but I was not trying to insert myself or hurt anyone’s feelings. It was a matter of the same place, same time. We had a simple moment. I don’t read too much into it,” she added.
Tomakin and Paras were spotted in Bali, Indonesia, earlier this year, which she clarified was a group trip. “People think it was a honeymoon. We were all there together. It was so innocent. People just twisted it.”
The “Bite” singer also stressed that, to her knowledge, Paras and Alcantara had “long broken up” before their group trip to Bali.
Tomakin also said she preferred older businessmen to athletes when it came to dating.
“Kobe is not my type. I am not into sports people. I am into business people. I like a guy who can stimulate my mind. I want a guy who knows how to be a man. I don’t want to have to teach someone how to be a man. I need maturity, I want older guys,” she explained.
The singer-influencer also emphasized that her current priority is “focusing on herself” as she also extended her well-wishes to Alcantara, who she said is receiving most of the criticism amid the breakup. Tomakin also said she does not know Alcantara.
“I don’t know her because, you know, I grew up in Dubai. And I never really watch—laki akong Disney channel, Nickelodeon cartoon, so—Englishera, halata,” she said
“I wish her all the best. I wish her more projects, more love, more happiness, because girls usually get the blunt of scrutiny, no? It’s terrible, men usually get away scot-free, while people are so critical of women,” she added. /ra
