Jayda Avanzado said she takes it as a compliment to be physically compared to the newly crowned 2025 Miss Universe Philippines, Ahtisa Manalo

Avanzado was asked for her reaction during a casual-wear retail brand event on Thursday, May 15, regarding what netizens say about her resemblance to Manalo.

“Wow. It’s such a great compliment. If you saw, I posted a video on TikTok when she won. Me and my mom are so proud of her. She really is beauty with brains. It’s a big compliment to be compared to her,” she told reporters.

Jayda is the only daughter of celebrity couple Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado. During the coronation night, Jayda posted a reaction video with her mom, in which they were captured screaming and jumping after Manalo was just named the new Miss Universe Philippines.

Other netizens say Zaragoza resembles Manalo during the former’s younger days.

Meanwhile, when asked about the advice from her parents that she will always live by, Jayda emphasized the importance of being respectful and giving her all in everything she does.

“Always respect the people you work with in the industry. Whatever happens, whoever you bump into, you can never go wrong with giving respect. It’s kind of a hot take, but you don’t always have to be kind, but be respectful,” she said.

“Always give your all in every performance, no matter if it’s a small crowd or big arena, it should be the same level of discipline and commitment,” she added.

The young singer also extended fashion advice to young people who are still figuring out their style.

“Go experiment with whatever makes you feel comfortable, whatever makes you happy and makes you feel good in your own skin, go for it. Styling and finding your style is a revolutionary process. It changes as life progresses and that’s okay,” she stated.  /ra
