‘Missing’ Vivamax actress Karen Lopez posts on social media

After going missing for several days, Vivamax actress Karen Lopez finally surfaced on social media, saying that her supposed vanishing act was due to her need for space and to give herself time to rest.

Lopez took to Facebook just a few moments after the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) came into the picture and say that no formal missing-person report had been reported.

“Please forgive me if I suddenly go missing these past few days. I ask for your forgiveness, I am so sorry for everything. I really just needed to rest and to focus on myself. I’ve been going through some things that are mentally and emotionally draining, and I realized that I needed to prioritize my well-being, even if that meant stepping back for a while,” she said in Filipino.

The actress, whose real name is Iris Abraham, also said she appreciated the concern shown by some people, who first reported her disappearance.

“I know some of you got worried or were confused with my disappearance, and I truly appreciated your messages and support. Slowly I am getting better and I’m trying to come back stronger, one step at a time,” she said. “Thank you for your understanding, for reaching out. Slowly but surely, I’m getting back on track. Appreciate you all so much!”

She also posted video where she could be seen talking but with the audio seemingly not turned on, but deleted it a few minutes later.

She again shared another post on Facebook, simply stating, “Just to clarify things out.” She has not given further details about her disappearance.

Lopez, signed up with Viva Artists Agency, which manages VMX (formerly Vivamax), in January this year. This year, she was part of the cast of the VMX movie “Habal.”

In a statement on May 14, the QCPD said its Station 10 in Kamuning was already conducting an investigation into Lopez’s disappearance even though no formal missing-person report has been filed.

The actress has reportedly been missing since early May. Her last social media post has been lat May 6.

“We urge anyone who has direct knowledge or connection with the actress to coordinate with us,” the police said.

The police also said it was already reviewing closed circuit television camera footage and interviewed the actress’ personal assistant. /edv
