Meanwhile, his mother, Vilma Santos-Recto, is poised to win the gubernatorial race with 599,732 votes. Her opponents, Mike Rivera, Jay Manalo Ilagan, and Kuyakap Walter Ozaeta, garnered 487,251 votes, 248,659 votes, and 91,446 votes, respectively.

The TV host’s half-brother Ryan Christian Recto, on the other hand, is leading in the race to be the representative of Batangas’ 6th district with 82,587 votes.

The 2025 midterm elections marks Manzano’s first foray into politics, after he said that he is “open” to running for a government position in July of last year. He does not have a political experience prior to running for Batangas’ vice governor.

Manzano is the son of Santos-Recto and Edu Manzano, who served as Makati’s vice mayor from 1998 to 2001. The actor-game show host was also appointed as the chairman of the Optical Media Board in 2004 and served for five years. /cb
