Another year zanier

LEO VALDEZ, Luke Mejares and China Cojuangco

I’ve always been a party animal. I usually tell my friends in jest that even if I already have a Senior Citizen card, I would still be partying and using my card for discounts at night spots.

When I turned a year zanier last Sept. 22, I had an intimate birthday bash at 7th High in Bonifacio Global City (The Fort).

Many thanks to its kind owner, Jose Haresco, for hosting a party for me.

My gratitude as well to Lito Trinidad and Zid Santos for making it happen. I felt like a debutante all over again.

MR. FU and IC Mendoza

It wasn’t a carnival type of party. I invited only my closest friends in and out of the biz. Since it was a last-minute invitation, not all of them were able to make it, but I appreciated their heartwarming messages via text.

I got the surprise of my life when the waiter handed me a bottle of vodka, my signature drink, sent by Derek Ramsay.

Ahh! The joys of being a birthday girl.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart to my BFF Cesar Montano, who was the first guest to arrive and one of the last ones to leave. No birthday of mine would ever be complete without him.

JOSE Haresco

Cheers to Leo Valdez, who broke his “no night-life policy” for “The King and I” run just to be with me on my special day.

Also at the party was China Cojuangco, who is so down-to-earth. She makes me forget she’s the President’s niece.

Sally Quizon parties

I really appreciated the presence of Sally Quizon, who partied for the first time since her dad, Tito Dolphy, passed away. She’s like the sis I’ve always wanted to have.

A million thanks to Medwin Marfil and his band, True Faith; Luke Mejares, Alvin Anson and Bayani Agbayani  for the impromptu mini-concert; my beloved Darna friend Mr. Fu, who doesn’t usually attend parties but made an exception that night, and dear Lani Mercado,  who took time out to drop by even if she was tired from shooting.

LITO Trinidad

Big thanks also to Yong Nieva, Boy and Cora Padiernos for the post-birthday treat at my fave Thai resto, Thaipan, on Scout Lazcano; my TV5 “Ang Latest” family for the lovely bouquet and yummy cake; my Aruba Metrowalk family for always making me feel at home; my friends out of the biz for keeping me sane, and to my kids Bianch and IC for clearing their schedules to celebrate with me in Bangkok.
