As voting for the May 12 midterm elections came to a close, celebrities and internet personalities running for government positions exercised their right to vote in their respective polling precincts.

While these celebrities have already built a following before the elections, they are still bound by the rules of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) when it comes to campaigning and fulfilling their responsibilities.

Jeremy Marquez showed off his inked fingernail at a poll precinct in Parañaque and enjoyed a meal with his father, actor and ex-Parañaque mayor Joey Marquez. He is selected as the first nominee of the Solo Parents party-list.

Jolo Revilla, who is the incumbent 1st District representative of Cavite, was accompanied by his wife Angel and son Gab at the Tejeros Convention Elementary School in Rosario, Cavite.

Senatorial aspirant Manny Pacquiao shared that he voted early in the morning on his social media platforms, while sharing a clip of himself shading his ballot and interacting with voters.

Aiko Melendez, who is seeking reelection as councilor for Quezon City’s 5th District, was joined by her daughter Marthena at a poll precinct in a Quezon City mall.

“Finally casted votes with my daughter Marthena Jickain now is the time to exercise our right to vote, let us all vote wisely,” she wrote on Facebook.

Laguna governor hopeful Sol Aragones said she waited for two hours before casting her vote at San Lucas 1 Elementary School in San Pablo, Laguna.

While citing the Philippine Constitution, incumbent councilor of Pasig’s 2nd District Angelu De Leon shared photos of herself and her family voting at a precinct in the city.

Isko Moreno Domagoso, who is seeking to be elected in his second term as Manila mayor, reminded his followers to vote on his social media platforms. His voting precinct is located at Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School within the country’s capital.

Abby Viduya, aspiring councilor of Parañaque’s 1st District, was accompanied by her husband, actor Jomari Yllana, as they voted in their assigned precinct.

Laguna gubernatorial aspirant Dan Fernandez was joined by his son Danzel, who is serving as a board member of the province’s 1st District, as well as their family while voting.

Angelica Jones, who is running for a provincial board member in Laguna, shared on Facebook that she read the bible and prayed before voting in her assigned precinct in the afternoon.

“Exact 3pm bumoto tayo. Nakapila nakatayo… Nakakatuwa po napakaraming kabataan ang bagong butante ngayon (I voted at exactly 3 p.m. We lined while standing up. It makes me happy to see a lot of young voters today),” she added.

Laguna vice governor aspirant Gem Castillo went live on Facebook to document herself while voting, while Pililla vice mayor aspirant Bobet Vidanes shared his inked finger from three years apart.

Marco Gumabao, who is hoping to be elected as Camarines Sur’s 4th District representative, hoped that “God’s will be done” after casting his vote.

Ejay Falcon said he braved the long lines to vote in his assigned precinct in Barangay Cacawan in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro.

Political vlogger and senatorial aspirant Marc Gamboa showed off his inked finger after voting in his assigned polling precinct.

Ramon “Bong” Revilla, who is aiming to be elected in his fourth term as senator, was accompanied by his family while casting his vote.

“Ito na ang araw kung kailan nagdesisyon tayo bilang iisang bansa kung sino nga ba ang nararapat na mga lingkod-bayan. Hangad din naming hindi sasayangin ng mga lingkod-bayang ito ang tiwala ng bansa upang mas mapabuti pa ang pang-araw-araw ng bawat Pilipino,” he wrote on Facebook.

(This is the day where we decide as one country who is right to be chosen in their respective spots. We hope our constituents won’t lose faith in the country and choose those who want to make every Filipino’s life better.)

Shamcey Supsup, who is running for councilor in Pasig’s 2nd District, was all smiles as she showed off her inked finger.
