Former married couple Ruffa Gutierrez and Yilmaz Bektas seem to have built a strong friendship, with the actress expressing her profound gratitude to the Turkish businessman for his “greatest gift of all”—making her a mother.
Gutierrez marked Mother’s Day by re-sharing her old photos with her daughters Lorin and Venice, with one of the snaps including Bektas.
“Thank you, Yilmaz, for your thoughtful message,” Gutierrez said via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 11, although she opted not to disclose it.
“Yes, I’ll never forget that you gave me the greatest gift of all: the chance to become a mother. For that, I will always be grateful,” she added.

Last March, Gutierrez said that all was well between her and Bektas, even revealing that the latter wanted to propose and marry her again.
The actress, who is in a relationship with Herbert Bautista, further disclosed that Bektas invited her to travel around Europe.
“I don’t say he’s courting me again. At least, we’ve come to that decision and that time in our lives where we can joke and be happy with one another,” Gutierrez said.
“I always wish him well. I always wish he becomes successful in life because his success is also the success of my kids,” she continued.
Speaking about her daughters’ relationship with their dad, Gutierrez said, “I’m very happy that they’re more at ease… I’m just so happy for my daughters because they have a personal relationship with their dad.”
Gutierrez and Bektas got married in 2003 and separated in 2007. Their marriage was annulled in 2012.
Meanwhile, in a separate recent Instagram post, Gutierrez expressed her appreciation for Lorin and Venice, who are both studying abroad and were not with the actress during Mother’s Day.
Despite their absence, Lorin and Venice extended their love by gifting their mom with bouquets of flowers.

“Being your mom is the greatest blessing,” Gutierrez wrote. “Thank you for being kind, loving, and thoughtful—not just to me, but to everyone you encounter.”
“Always remember that no matter what life brings, as long as we have each other, we can overcome anything. I love you both so much. Come home na!” she added. /ra
