Angelika dela Cruz revealed that she received another death threat that came with gun bullets and a demand for her to withdraw her Malabon vice mayoral bid.
The actress-turned-politician, who is the incumbent barangay chair of Longos, Malabon, showed via her Facebook page on Friday, May 9, a photo of the threat written on a paper and sent along with three gun bullets.
The message on the paper reads: “Angelika dela Cruz, mapagpalang araw sa’yo. Umatras ka na sa laban ng vice mayor ng Malabon! Kung hindi, alam mo ang kahihinatnan mo at ng pamilya mo!”
In the caption, Dela Cruz lamented, “Siniraan, kinasuhan, ngayon naman tinatakot. Anong kasunod?! Grabe na pati family ko dinadamay ninyo.”
Dela Cruz was referring to the plunder charges against her involving at least P70 million in public funds of the barangay.
She also faces administrative charges for neglect of duties as Barangay Longos captain, frequent absences without official leave, and unauthorized transfer of her official duties to her brother, Kagawad Erick Dela Cruz.
Seemingly unfazed, Dela Cruz earlier regarded these accusations as dirty political tactics.
“Grabe talaga ang politics. ‘Pag hindi nila nakuha ang gusto nila sa siraan, next step kakasuhan ka naman nila. Hay. Baka sa susunod niyan ipapatay niyo ako ah,” she said.
In 2022, Dela Cruz also received death threats that included gun bullets as well. /ra
