John Estrada supports Willie Revillame, laments past votes for ‘smart’ candidates

John Estrada has made known his support for his friend and senatorial aspirant Willie Revillame, saying he is now choosing candidates with compassion over those who are “smart and overqualified.”
Estrada addressed fellow voters and underscored the TV host-actor’s concern for the poor, via his Instagram page on Thursday, May 8.
“Iboboto ko itong tao na ito hindi dahil kaibigan ko siya at mahal ko tong tao na ‘to, kundi dahil alam ko kung gaano niya kayo kamahal, lalo na ang mahihirap,” Estrada said, noting how Revillame supposedly extends financial aids to victims of disaster out of his own pocket.
“Ang daming nagsasabi wala siyang alam. Ang pagkakilala ko sa isang Willie Revillame ay matalino at sobrang madiskarte sa buhay. ‘Di po yayaman ‘yan ng gano’n kung walang alam ‘yan,” he continued. “Walang alam ‘yan sa pangungurakot at [pag-ubos ng kaban] ng bayan. Totoo ‘yan.”
Estrada further stressed that Revillame does not need to steal from public funds. “Mayaman na si Willie.”
Recalling his past preferences as a voter, Estrada stated, “Ang dami ko nang binoto na matatalino at overqualified pero may pagbabago ba sa buhay natin lalo na sa buhay ng mahihirap? Wala, lumala pa.”
“Kaya ako, iboboto ko ngayon ay yung alam kong may malasakit sa kapwa lalo na sa mahihirap, maganda ang hangarin sa kapwa, at tutulungan ang kapwa,” he added. “Si Willie Revillame ‘yon.”
Estrada concluded his post with the remark, “MAHALIN NATIN ANG KAPUS PALAD NG PILIPINAS.”
