ILLIT members Yunah and Minju had the chance to work with “High School Musical: The Series” star Kylie Cantrall for the latter’s new track “See U Tonight.”

“See U Tonight,” which was released on Wednesday, May 7, is a pop track that features Cantrall, Minju, and Yunah singing about the uncertainty of a “budding relationship” with both sides doing a “push-and-pull dynamic.”

Aside from the track, the music video was released on the same day, featuring the Disney star interacting with ILLIT through a video call, with the former dressing up with her friends. Meanwhile, the K-pop girl group was spending time at HYBE’s dance studio.

“I used to practice with Cantrall’s songs when I was a trainee, so it feels surreal and such an honor to work with her… The recording process was really fun, as the song really fits the style I’m trying to build as an artist,” Minju said of the collaboration with the singer-actress in a press statement.

Meanwhile, Yunah said she did her best to ensure that her vocal tone fit with the song’s direction.

“I focused on refining the vocal riffs to make sure every delivery contributed to the song. It’s a cool, refreshing track — perfect for the weather these days — so I hope you’ll give it lots of love,” she said.

Formed through the reality show “R U Next?,” ILLIT debuted in March 2024 with their first EP “Super Real Me.” The girl group, consisting of Yunah, Minju, Wonhee, Moka, and Iroha, is best known for their hit song “Magnetic.”

On the other hand, Cantrall started her entertainment career posting reviews of Disney shows and doing covers. She eventually released her first single “Sleep Is 4 Suckas,” and gained recognition in “High School Musical: The Series,” “Gabby Duran & the Unsittables,” and the “Descendants” film series. /edv
