The Miss Universe Philippines 2025 coronation show gave its first cliffhanger as Yllana Marie Aduana of Siniloan, Laguna, one of the crowd favorites, was among the last to be called in the Top 24.
The 66 candidates were grouped into three, and Aduana, being in the last group, was the second to the last to be called in front to join other semifinalists onstage the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena on Friday, May 2.
Aduana was pageant sponsor Pina voting showcase winner for the runway category. After her name was called, the crowd broke into cheers.
Aside from Aduana, other frontrunners Ahtisa Manalo, Winwyn Marquez, Chelsea Fernandez and Katrina Llegado are among those who advanced to the Top 24.

The event kicked off with a pre-taped opening as the contestants made their respective introductions. The delegates then took the stage to dance to “Mabuhay,” the iconic opening theme song of the 1994 Miss Universe pageant, which was hosted by the Philippines.
The semifinalists are poised to showcase their confidence and grace in the swimsuit segment, which comes next before they transform the stage into an elegant sight for the evening glam.
Reigning titleholder Chelsea Manalo is set to crown her successor at the end of the coronation night.
