Kris Aquino‘s eldest son, Joshua “Josh” Aquino, joined the campaign of Senator Nancy Binay, who is running as mayor of Makati in the May 12 elections.

Nancy, a longtime family friend of the Aquinos, is going against her own brother-in-law, Makati Rep. Luis Campos, husband of her sister, Makati Mayor Abby Binay, who is seeking a Senate post under the administration slate. Actor-politician Monsour del Rosario is Binay’s running-mate.

In a Facebook Live, Nancy shared moments from their ticket’s motorcade on Thursday morning, May 1, in Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati.

Nancy then introduced Josh as their special guest for that day’s motorcade campaign. Josh was seen enjoying himself before greeting the camera, chummily going along with her words.

“Hello. How are you? … Vote for Nancy [and] Binay,” Josh said enthusiastically.

Nancy previously accused Campos of allegedly distributing campaign materials of himself inside the village’s barangay hall, an allegation that he denied.

Last year, Kris thanked the Binays, specifically her close friend, Anne Binay Alcantara, for allowing her son Josh to join the latter’s family celebration of Mother’s Day as the “adopted member of their clan.” Kris is also said to be close to former mayor Junjun Binay.

The Binay siblings are children of former Vice President Jejomar Binay and former city mayor Elenita Binay. Jejomar was one of the lawyers and ally of Kris’ father, slain Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. when he was incarcerated by during the regime of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., father of incumbent president and namesake, Bongbong Marcos Jr.

A seeming crack in the relationship between the Binays and Aquinos occurred when Jejomar and Junjun were investigated for graft-related charges during the term of  Kris’ brother, the late former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III amid the senior Binay’s presidential bid in 2016.

Despite their political leanings, Kris previously insisted that there is no bad blood between the Aquinos and Binays, and that her son Bimby was also closed friends with Nancy’s children.

Bimby is Kris’ son with San Juan councilor and athlete James Yap, while Josh is her son with actor Phillip Salvador, who is also trying his luck in politics by running for the Senate.
