Nadine Lustre, Janno Gibbs, Pops Fernandez, and Arthur Nery were revealed as panelists of the third season of “Masked Singer Pilipinas,” which will be hosted by Billy Crawford.
The judges, host, and glimpses of the third iteration of the singing competition were announced in a media con on Tuesday, April 29, which showed the judges goofing around throughout the competition.
Even though it was Lustre’s first time on the panel, she said that it was one of the most memorable experiences she had. The actress only made a brief appearance through a video call as she was in a different country at the time.
“Masasabi ko na ang ‘Masked Singer’ ang isa sa pinakamemorable na project na nagawa ko, ever (I can say that ‘Masked Singer’ is one of the most memorable projects that I ever had),” she said.
Nery, meanwhile, admitted that he was nervous to be a judge, noting his experience as a contestant in the show’s second season. He is nonetheless grateful to be surrounded by fellow judges who made things fun for him.
“At first, kabado ako pero winelcome talaga nila ako. Iba ‘yung feeling noong contestant ako kasi bawal kami magsalita… sobrang iba [ang experience maging judge]. And ang saya lang talaga namin,” he said.
(I was nervous at first, but they welcomed me on the show. Being a contestant felt different because we were not allowed to talk. This time, the experience of being a judge was really different. But we really had fun.)

‘God’s time’
While “Masked Singer Pilipinas” season three marked Crawford’s third time to host, he considered the upcoming season as an opportunity that happened in “God’s time,” noting that things seamlessly fell into place.
“It feels wonderful because everything was in God’s time para sa’kin. I got to spend time with my son noong hindi pa ginagawa ang ‘Masked Singer,’” he said. “Noong dumating ang offer ng ‘Masked Singer,’ naging malaking blessing ulit because I got to have fun. In Masked Singer, it’s like I’m not working. Para akong naglalaro. We just get to have fun.”

When the offer came, it was a big blessing for me because I got to have fun. It’s like I’m not working. It was like I just played around. We just get to have fun.)
Sixteen contestants will vie for the championship, namely, Astigre, Rats to Riches, Monster Showman, Plantita Turner, Fantasa, Aeroboy, Frog Sinatra, Meowy, Jelly Babe, Monkeylabot, Puppy Love, Mr. T, Kunewho, Gagambini, Susie TV, and Foxtastic Samurai.
The identities of the contestants will remain a mystery until they are eliminated from the competition.
“Masked Singer Pilipinas” is an adaptation of the South Korean variety show “King of Mask Singer” with mystery singers — while donning elaborate masks — go head-to-head in three elimination rounds.
