Archie Alemania pleaded not guilty to the acts of lasciviousness complaint filed against him by actress Rita Daniela, during his arraignment at the Bacoor City Municipal Trial Court on Tuesday, April 29.
According to a “24 Oras” report, Alemania’s request for a gag order was also granted by the Bacoor court to restrict the parties involved from publicly discussing the merits of the case.
The actor declined to comment on his court plea, while Daniela stressed that the truth will come out.
“I feel bad. I mean, ako, I know my truth and I know God is with me and kahit anong mangyari, kahit gaano pa katagal, lalabas at lalabas ‘yung totoo,” she told reporters.
Last month, the Bacoor RTC released an arrest warrant for Alemania after it determined it had sufficient grounds to put him on trial, and suggested bail amounting to P36,000 for his provisional liberty.
At the time, the prosecutor’s office also indicted Alemania after determining that there was “a prima facie case, with a reasonable certainty of conviction,” and that he could be penalized under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code, which pertains to “any act by an individual with lewd intent that may include inappropriate touching or fondling without consent.”
In her complaint filed in September 2024, Daniela alleged that Alemania kissed and groped her without permission and made offensive comments about her during and after a Thanksgiving party for their show “Widow’s War.”
Alemania’s legal team submitted a counter-affidavit in December, refuting the allegations as the actor justified his behavior and comments as “being friendly” toward the actress.
