Sen. Bong’s blissful birthday bash
Bong Revilla’s recent birthday bash at the ballroom of Diamond Hotel was a merry mix of show biz and politics. It only goes to show that Bong has conquered both worlds.
Was there anything else that the birthday boy could ask for?
“Nothing more for myself,” he said. “I’m so blessed. I just wish that my son Jolo and wife Lani would flourish in their political careers.”
Was he planning to run for higher office? “I can’t say for sure,” he mused. “If it’s my destiny, then I will pursue it.”
How was his MMFF [Metro Manila Film Festival] entry going?
“With me, Juday [Judy Ann Santos] and Bossing [Vic Sotto] in the movie, it’s like a three-in-one,” he beamed. “We’ve got all the right ingredients blended to perfection.”

Didn’t they have unspoken political rivalry? “We’re a team,” Lani explained. “We talk politics at home sometimes. We support each other. We guide our son Jolo.”
What was her message to Jolo’s rumored girlfriend Jodi? “It’s tough to be the girlfriend or wife of an actor/politician,” she said. “You need to be extra-patient. I hope whatever Jolo and Jodi (decide) will make them both happy. Whoever my son loves, I will love as my own, too.” Girls may come and go, but Lani will remain as his constant “WoMOM” no matter what.
Speaking of Jodi, I teased Iwa Moto and asked if she watched Jodi’s hit show, “Please Be Careful with my Heart.” Jodi’s ex, Pampi Lacson, is now Iwa’s love. “I’d rather watch cartoons,” she said, laughing. Careful!
