Kate Valdez dismisses pregnancy claims

Actress Kate Valdez has shut down claims about her being pregnant with her boyfriend Fumiya Sankai’s baby. 

On their joint TikTok account, Valdez posted a video with Sankai where they were jamming to the tune of the latter’s song “Love Rock” with their pet dog. 

The “Shining Inheritance” actress donned a spaghetti strap dress that exposed her shoulders, while Sankai wore a light blue shirt. 

In the comments section, a netizen wrote, “Buntis siya halata (She’s pregnant, it’s obvious).”

Valdez clapped back at the netizen, writing, “Last year pa yan ah! (This was taken last year) Kaloka kayo (You guys are silly). Edi bulok na ‘yung bata sa tiyan ko, mga buang kayo [laughing emoji] (If that’s the case, then the baby has already expired in my stomach, you guys are crazy).”

Valdez and Sankai have been dating for almost a year now. Last year, the couple shared who fell in love first between them. 

“I saw him as someone I want to keep as a very good friend. I don’t know if it’s toxic or what, but I have this belief that if someone is a friend, the relationship will last longer. So I don’t want to ruin that. But he’s the one who fell first,” the actress told reporters at the time. 

Earlier this year, the pair visited Taiwan to celebrate New Year before heading to Japan. Valdez previously shared that they are currently navigating a semi-long-distance relationship, as Sankai still lives in Japan and only returns to the Philippines once a month. 

The duo first sparked dating rumors in August 2024 after they went on a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland for Valdez’s birthday celebration.
