Ashley Ortega hopes Mavy Legaspi is ‘the one’

Ashley Ortega is enthusiastic about the future with her boyfriend Mavy Legaspi as she expressed hopes that the latter is truly “the one” for her.

Ortega was asked by showbiz vlogger Ogie Diaz in a recent interview if she was seeing Legaspi as someone she would end up with in the future.

“Sana, kasi ang dami ko na rin po naging mga ex. Syempre lover girl ako, gusto ko long-term relationship. Alam niya na rin naman ‘yon,” she said.

The Kapuso actress said she initially asked Legaspi if he was certain that he wanted to be with her considering their age-gap.

“Nung nanliligaw pa lang siya, he’s three years younger than me. Sabi ko, ‘Sure ka ba, sakin ka? Enjoy mo muna ‘yung youth mo. You’re young, you’re handsome, you have a career,” she narrated.

“Ako matanda na ako, syempre ‘yung next step ko in life is to settle down na at the right age. Ayoko na mag-invest ng feelings sa isang lalaki tapos ang ending, magbi-break rin naman. Ayoko na ng ganon,” added the 26-year-old actress. 

Despite impressing on Legaspi her long-term relationship mindset, Ortega noted that she didn’t try to pressure the actor about the idea of marriage.

“Pero hindi ko naman siya prinessure sa ganon. Masiyadong maaga ‘yon. Kumbaga sinabi ko, this is my mindset, if I’m going to have a boyfriend. Sana ‘yun na ‘yung last,” she explained. 

Ortega shared that Legaspi tried to assure her that he would prove himself to be worthy.

“I hope it’s him. Ayoko na ng heartbreak. Hindi ko na kaya. Pero syempre huwag tayo magsalita ng tapos, we’ll never know. ‘Yung mga long-term relationships nga diba naghihiwalay rin,” she remarked.

The actress also expressed her appreciation for Legaspi’s mother, actress Carmina Villarroel, who she said was supportive of her after her “Pinoy Big Brother” stint.

“Wala naman silang binilin sa’kin. Kung sino naman ‘yung parang mahal ni Mavy sinusuportahan talaga nila […] Nung kakalabas ko lang ng bahay ni Kuya, nagtext sa”kin si Tita Mina […] Na-appreciate ko kasi supportive sila sa’kin. I hope because of PBB mas nakilala rin nila ako,” she said.

In February, Ortega confirmed that she and Legaspi are in a relationship. The actress previously dated Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala, while the latter dated actress Kyline Alcantara, who is now dating basketball player Kobe Paras.
