Jericho Rosales confirms he’s Janine Gutierrez’s BF at Pilita Corrales’ wake

After disclosing that they were dating, Jericho Rosales officially confirmed that he’s Janine Gutierrez’s boyfriend at the wake of veteran singer Pilita Corrales, the latter’s grandmother.

As seen in the video posted by Ecy Rapadas on Facebook on Thursday, April 17, Rosales gave a short speech and performed a song at Corrales’ wake at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City.

“I’m here because I am supporting an amazing family…If you want a definition of a family, this is the family,” he said. 

The “Lavender Fields” actor explained that he was giving a tribute to Asia’s Queen of Songs because he is Gutierrez’s boyfriend.

“I’ve been so honored to just, you know, that I’ve been spending time with them, ‘cause I’m Janine’s boyfriend. Let’s just put it out there,” he remarked, drawing positive reactions from the crowd.

Rosales then shared a story about his mother who has Alzheimer’s and who idolizes the late singer very much.

“My mother has Alzheimer’s and she loves to sing a lot and the songs that she sings are songs of Pilita Corrales, so I always say that her songs just go beyond memory because it is embedded in her heart,” he narrated.

“Everytime Janine goes to the house, mag-iiyakan sila ng 45 minutes because mama would sing PIlita Corrales songs to her and they’ll just cry and so I let them cry,” continued the actor. 

Rosales performed the song “Paglisan,” which he described as a “perfect picture of love.”

Corrales died in her sleep on April 12.
