Tarah Valencia excited to be with Anna Lakrini in Miss Supranational 2025

It has been almost a year since Tarah Valencia earned the right to represent the Philippines in the 2025 Miss Supranational pageant. And her eagerness for the international competition even grew now that she will see a familiar face in the contest, former Binibining Pilipinas Anna Valencia Lakrini.
The part-German Lakrini was crowned as Miss Supranational Germany earlier this month, and Valencia said she is looking forward to being with another Filipino woman as she sets foot on unfamiliar territory.
“I’m really sure that once we get there in Poland, I will find the sisterhood. I will feel the love of a family. I won’t be feeling so alone,” Valencia told INQUIRER.net in an interview.
“I’m really happy that we’re gonna share the same stage together. I was with Anna for a short time in one event, and I witnessed how soft her heart is, how she’s genuine,” she continued.

Lakrini was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Globe in 2023, and went on to finish third in The Miss Globe pageant in Albania in the same year.
Valencia’s appearance for the pagent’s “Supra Chat” online series transpired in Episode 3 that streamed on Thursday evening, April 17. The Filipino contender appealed for votes to win her episode. Australia’s Krysta Heath and Puerto Rico’s Valerie Klepadlo had already topped episodes 1 and 2, respectively,
“Mga kababayan, kailangan ko ang tulong [n’yo]. Samahan [n’yo akong] iwagayway ang ating bandila upang maipakita ang natatanging galing ng isang Pilipina! [Philippine flag emoji][woman raising hand emoji],” Valencia said on social media.

In his talk with Valencia, Ivan Padrez from Miss Supranational revealed that it will be her first overseas trip when she flies to Poland for the international pageant in June.
“It’s always been a childhood dream of mine to travel all around the world. But at the same time there is always a fear when it comes to visiting new places,” she said.
But Valencia said she is excited to visit “vibrant” Poland, and likened it to the Philippines that also has rich culture and heritage. As in the previous editions, the 2025 competition will take place in the southeastern Polish province of Malopolska.
Padrez also touched on Valencia’s journey as her family’s breadwinner at 16 years old. “Honestly speaking, we have experienced financial difficulties, and experienced asking for help from other people,” she said.
“To be honest, it’s not really that easy, most especially when we lost our father four years ago. So I took it upon [myself] as the eldest to provide and sustain my family [financially]. And at the same time, it’s also my personal choice to help and guide my brother and my sister, that dreams do come true,” she continued.
Padrez also asked Valencia how she would explain pageantry to those who are not familiar with it. “There is more [to] pageantry, because we beauty queens are ambassadors, are [symbols] of our own cause, of our own purpose, and how we are able to make a change for society from our background, from our country,” she responded.
The Baguio lass is competing for the Philippines’ second Miss Supranational victory, more than a decade since Mutya Johanna Datul posted the country’s first win in 2013.
The 2025 Miss Supranational coronation night will be held on June 27 (June 28 in Manila). Valencia’s predecessor Alethea Ambrosio made it to the Top 12, and was proclaimed as Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania.
