Prior to her death, National Artist Nora Aunor was supposed to treat her Noranians to a new project that she was to headline, as disclosed by her fellow actress Hilda Koronel.
Koronel revealed this in her tribute to Aunor, via the former’s Instagram page on Thursday, April 17.
“I’m very saddened by Ate Guys’s passing. We were discussing a project with her just before I left for home with direk [Adolfo Alix Jr.],” she said, opting not to expound on the project.
Koronel then extended her condolences to Aunor’s family while looking back on some of their shared scenes together in their 1985 film “Beloved.”
“Rest in peace now, Ate Guy. You are now home with our Lord,” Koronel wrote.
“What a big loss to our industry. But you will never be forgotten,” she concluded.

In a separate post on his Instagram page, Alix, who worked with Aunor in several projects including “Padre de Familia,” “The Day After” and “Pieta,” further honored the Superstar and her craft.
“It is always a joy to work with Ate Guy because you always learn something new on every project about her process and how unafraid and unconventional she is on choosing her next steps. She always tries to break barriers and looks forward to creating memorable characters onscreen,” he said.
“That’s why her career is a phenomenon that will never be matched. She has broken and overcome all the barriers and stereotypes to prove that her star can shine no matter what,” he continued.
Alix underscored how the veteran actress was a family to him, recalling how they would have long conversations about her life.
“We were just talking about the exciting characters you should do when you have fully recovered! She was looking forward to our reunion film project with some of Philippine cinema’s best this July—and we will pursue that in honor of you,” he vowed.
“Ate Guy, yours is a story that we will never be tired of sharing. And your legacy will surely live on! And it is my hope that her film ‘KONTRABIDA’ be finally released as a fitting tribute to her!” he concluded, referring to the late screen veteran’s 2022 movie that he helmed as well.
