Jake Ejercito crossed the finish line of the Budapest Spring  Half Marathon, completing the 21.1-kilometer race in under two hours. 

Ejercito offered a glimpse of his recent marathon milestone on his Instagram page by sharing an image of himself flashing his medal and another one of him stretching prior to the race.

The carousel of photos also included a close-up shot of Ejercito’s beaded bracelet with the name of his daughter, Ellie, as well as clips of him in action along with the other runners.

“Grind paid off, no plot twists — all Him,” he wrote while expressing gratitude to the people who cheered for him during the race. 

Ejercito also hinted at his next marathon destination, adding in his caption, “Next up: Chicago.”

In January, the “Linlang” actor also completed the half marathon in Iloilo, completing a 22.7-kilometer race in two hours.

Aside from Ejercito, other Filipino celebrities have also recently engaged in running.

Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Julia Barretto, Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino recently participated in a charity fun run to support children with cancer.

Richards mentioned in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer that he  plans to join a half marathon to commemorate his 15th anniversary in show biz later this year.

The former “Eat Bulaga” host began organizing fun runs including one with the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation in May.
