Xyriel Manabat, Shuvee Etrata enter ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ house

Xyriel Manabat and Shuvee Etrata were revealed as the newest celebrity housemates to enter the Bahay ni Kuya, as they expressed their excitement to reintroduce themselves to the public.

Manabat and Etrata were announced as the newest housemates on the April 13 episode of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition Collab,” following the eviction of Kira Balinger and Charlie Fleming.

In her introduction video, Etrata said she is the eldest child out of nine siblings, and she is supporting her family, who are left behind in Bantayan Island.

“Isa lang naman akong simpleng island girl noon na pangarap maging doctor at Miss Universe. Kaya ‘di ko talaga lubos maisip na [with] my smiling video online, magiging artista ako,” the Kapuso actress said. “Ngayon, host pa which is my favorite because I get to be myself… kaya go for the gold kahit mahirap kasi one day, magiging worth it ang lahat.”

(I used to be a simple island girl who dreamt of becoming a doctor and Miss Universe. I didn’t expect that because of my smiling video online, I would be a celebrity. Now, I get to be a host, which is my favorite, because I get to be myself. Go for the gold no matter how hard it is because one day, everything will be worth it.)

Manabat said while she’s grateful for the recognition she received as a child actress, she decided to take time off in 2017 to focus on herself

“Noong 2017, bigla kong iniwan ang lahat kasi pakiramdam ko, naubos na ako at wala na akong mabigay kaya kinailangan kong piliin ang sarili ko. Kailangan kong magpahinga,” she said. “And now that I am better than ever and papasok sa Bahay ni Kuya, ipapakilala ko sa inyo ang Xyriel 2.0 na walang aatrasan para sa pamilya at tagumpay sa buhay.”

(In 2017, I left everything behind because I felt empty and had nothing to give. This is why I had to choose myself. I had to rest. And now, that I am better than ever and entering the Bahay ni Kuya, I will introduce Xyriel 2.0, who is up for challenges for my family and success.)

Prior to entering the “Pinoy Big Brother” house, Manabat is known for her lead role in “100 Days to Heaven” and “Momay,” and for being the child version of the lead stars in “Agua Bendita,” “Wildflower,” “Rubi,” “The Legal Wife,” and “Ikaw Lamang.”

Meanwhile, Etrata is a TikTok content creator and a segment host on “Unang Hirit,” and also appeared in the shows “Hearts on Ice” and “Tadhana: Pagtatapos.”
