Ivana Alawi gets real about being ‘sugar mommy’ in past flings, relationships

Ivana Alawi revealed that there was a time she became a “sugar mommy” by providing financial and material support to her partners in her past flings and relationships.
Alawi got candid about the time she was footing bills and showering her “partners” with gifts, something that she now looks back on with mixed feelings.
“Opo proud sugar momma, baklang-bakla ‘to,” she laughingly told Boy Abunda in an interview on “Fast Talk.” “Hindi, hindi ko naging jowa. ‘Yun nga masama, pero okay naman ako kasi mapagbigay talaga ako, mapagregalo.”
The vlogger-actress detailed the kind of financial favors she gave her former “fling,” someone who is not part of the showbiz industry.
“More on, mga pagkain, gas, pera, pang allowance […] kala ko kasi mapuputulan siya ng kuryente. Kala ko kasi may mangyayari sa kaniya kapag hindi ko nabigyan ng allowance. Hindi naman monthly, minsan-minsan lang, every three months ganon,” she shared.
Despite her initial experience, Alawi revealed that this kind of provider attitude extended when she started dating someone from the entertainment industry.
“Nanghihingi ng watch, mga regalo […] Mga hotel, lahat ako nagbabayad. Minsan pati dinner ako rin, pati wine lahat ako,” she said.
The “Batang Quiapo” actress underscored that things only changed when she realized that she deserves better, as she emphasized that people should not take advantage of someone’s financial capacity.
“Na-realize ko, maganda naman ako. Hindi naman ako chaka. Saka bagets naman ako. Hindi naman ako matanda. So bakit mo ako pineperahan. Pero dapat hindi mo rin peperahan ang mga matatanda. In general, wag ka na mamera. Nasa relasyon ka dahil sa pag-ibig, hindi sa pera,” she stressed.
Last month, Alawi shared on one of the episodes of her vlog that she is dating yet remains single. She also said that if she ever enters a relationship, she prefers someone who is not part of the showbiz industry.
