TO celebrate the 202nd anniversary of Chile and its ties with the Philippines, the Embassy of Chile and the Energy Development Corporation are presenting the paintings of Claudio Bravo in the exhibit, “Sojourn in Manila,” until Oct. 20 at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila.
Oscar Lopez shared, “With geothermal energy in mind, EDC has been undertaking exploratory activities in the Chilean mountains. In the near future, the group would like to supply clean and renewable energy to the homes and industries of Chile.”
Guests
Lopez met Bravo in 1968, when the latter was one of the guests at the 40th wedding anniversary of his parents, Eugenio Sr. and Pacita. The artist’s six-month stay in the country predated the renown that was later bestowed on him.
On view are paintings of Conchita Lopez-Taylor, Chona Kasten, Dr. Constantino Manahan, Elvira Manahan, Evelyn Lim-Forbes, Imelda R. Marcos, Luis Araneta, Ma. Lourdes Araneta-Fores, Margarita Cojuangco, Pacita Lopez, Presentacion Lopez-Psinakis, Regina Dee and Tessie Luz. My favorite is the 1968 charcoal drawing of a young Don Jaime and Doña Bea Zobel de Ayala. Call 708-7829.
