Just a day after they were chosen as official candidates for this year’s edition of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant, the lucky ladies received their official number assignments.
On Thursday evening, April 3, the longest-running national pageant in the Philippines released on social media the candidates’ photographs bearing their official competition numbers and the places that they will carry.
In the images, the ladies were set against a white background wearing identical pink tank tops emblazoned with the iconic “Binibining Pilipinas” emblem.
The cities, towns or provinces that the candidates will carry were determined after discussions between the ladies and a team from the Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI).
Their numbers, meanwhile, were assigned after an evaluation that involved Aika Events and Productions Inc., the production team behind the Bb. Pilipinas pageant’s coronation shows for the past years, including the grand 60th anniversary celebration last year.
Thirty-six ladies were chosen to compete in this year’s pageant at the final screening held at the New Frontier Theater at the Araneta City in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon. Out of the hundreds of applicants who signified their intention to join the contest, more than 70 aspirants were invited to the final call-back.
The details of this year’s grand coronation night have yet to be released. Reigning Bb. Pilipinas International Myrna Esguerra and The Miss Globe 2024 second runner-up Jasmin Bungay will relinquish their national titles to their respective successors at the end of the competition.
