Alcasid previously shared that they rescued Paul out of 100 dogs who were on a death row for being homeless.
“This is Paul. We rescued him dahil may isang lugar na 100 dogs ang papatayin dahil wala na silang malugaran. 99 ay nakuha at si Paul ang natira. Itinawag sa akin ni [@leilalcasid] thru [@gabsgibbs] at eto na sya. Malusog at napakabait. We love you Paully,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.
(This is Paul. We rescued him because there was a place where 100 dogs were going to be euthanized because they had nowhere else to go. 99 were taken and Paul was the only one left. Leila Alcasid called me through Janno Gibs and here he is. Healthy and very kind. We love you Paully.)
Being a home of animals including dogs and cats, the singer-composer shared in a past interview that they “spoil” their pets in any way they can.
“We spoil them, you know, they sleep with us, they are in the aircon. The Shih Tzu sleeps with us, si Lou sleeps with Leila, si Cyrus sa veranda, bantay niya ‘yun,” he said.
