Here’s something to talk about: “Encanto” fans might be up for another magical adventure, as actor John Leguizamo, who voiced the iconic character Bruno, has teased a potential sequel.
Leguizamo threw the possibility for a second installment in a recent interview after hinting that the team are “trying to come up with a storyline.”
“I’m calling them every day saying ‘When is No. 2 coming?’ They’re trying to come up with the storyline. They’re working on it,” the actor told People Magazine.

The stand-up comedian also expressed his desire for his character to have a bigger role in the possible second film, saying, “I’m also waiting for an Encanto 2 when all we do is talk about Bruno,” referencing one of the movie’s fan-favorite songs “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”
“Encanto” was a major success upon its release in 2021, grossing over $256 million globally in the box office and winning an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
At the time, the film’s soundtrack made waves in charts, specifically “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” It became the highest-charting Disney song since “Colors of the Wind” from “Pocahontas” landed the list in 1995.

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the time. It surpassed 2013’s “Frozen” and its massive hit “Let It Go,” which topped out at No. 5 on the chart.
Bruno, a character who had been shunned by his family for his supposed “bad luck,” became a symbol of the misunderstood individual longing for acceptance.
“I mean, no one could have predicted the success of the soundtrack, much less that Bruno was going to be the one that popped off,” Lin-Manuel Miranda, who penned the track, said in an interview.
“Encanto” centers on the lives of the Madrigals, a Colombian family with special powers except one member, Mirabel (Stephanie Beatriz), which makes her different from the rest of them.
Aside from Leguizamo, the film also includes the voices of María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan.
Disney has yet to confirm a sequel.
